“It’s a real fatwa”: Imam Chalghoumi files a complaint against Rima Hassan for incitement to violence

Rima Hassan is the target of a new complaint, this time for incitement to hatred. The imam of Drancy, Hassen Chalghoumi, recently took legal action against the MEP of La France Insoumise (LFI). “Rima Hassan’s remarks are of exceptional gravity: either democracy is strong and it will be prosecuted, or it is weak and everything will be allowed to it,” his lawyer David-Olivier Kaminski reacted on Monday, August 18, announcing the filing of the complaint on i24News.

A “fatwa” issued against the imam

The radical left-wing politician has multiplied her offensive publications against the Muslim leader. In particular, she wrote the name of the imam “Chalghoumi” followed by the emoji representing a horlo

This is enough to make many Internet users jump up and down who see it as death threats. “It is a real fatwa that Rima Hassan is issuing to Imam Chalghoumi. I assure him of all my support and ask Bruno Retailleau to take all measures to put this deputy out of harm’s way,” castigated Ariel Goldmann, president of the United Jewish Social Fund (FSJU). “This factious woman has just issued yet another fatwa against Imam Chalghoumi and our judges have always had a swimming pool. This impunity of the far left is staggering,” says activist Charlotte Rocher. Other Internet users reacted strongly to Rima Hassan’s post: “You are a disgrace”, “This is not a tweet, it is a marked target. A fatwa. She points out, others will kill”, “I hope she will be severely sentenced!”

Despite the complaint filed and the wave of anger against her, Rima Hassan reiterated her comments on X, publishing a new clock emoji. In another post, she called out the imam: “Who pays your lawyer? Just to know. Before criticizing Hassen Chalghoumi’s lawyer who “is none other than David-Olivier Kaminski, a member of the executive board of the CRIF” and “also Caroline Fourest’s lawyer“, she finally pointed out.

A first skirmish had already taken place this year between the two protagonists. On Radio J last March, Imam Chalghoumi called for the withdrawal of the French nationality of L’Insoumise after the latter considered that Hamas, which launched the October 7 attack in Israel, has “a legitimate action from the point of view of international law”.
