Following a controversial tweet by Rima Hassan against her client, Imam Chalghoumi, lawyer Jonas Haddad announced that he had filed a complaint against the MEP. For the latter, the elected representative of La France Insoumise is trying to put a target on the backs of Muslims who are too moderate for her taste.
How far will Rima Hassan go? The elected representative of La France Insoumise is once again in the crosshairs of the justice system, after a controversial tweet on the social network X. The MEP, who is used to taking controversial positions, this time attacked Imam Chalghoumi.
“Sorting out the good and the bad in the community”
On his tweet, three names are superimposed: first Balti, then Slaoui, two Muslim influencers who do not espouse his ideas on Gaza. And then the third: Chalghoumi, an imam who defends a moderate Islam… With a clock next to his name, as if his hours could be counted.
A threatening tweet according to Jonas Haddad, lawyer of the imam, who therefore filed a complaint. “The reason for the complaint is incitement to violence, it can also be the threat since it is a very clear threat that has been made, and it can also be incitement to homicide or something else,” he reveals. For the latter, by doing this, Rima Hassan is trying to put a target on the backs of Muslims who are too moderate for her taste.
“What Rima Hassan is doing this summer is sorting out the good and the bad in the (Muslim) community, so this is the summer of fatwas,” says lawyer Jonas Haddad. This is the fifteenth complaint filed against the MEP, who has already been the subject of proceedings for death threats, or glorifying terrorism.
